Center for Purposeful Living volunteers work cooperatively as a group to get the most challenging tasks done. Families grow and serve together at the Center for Purposeful Living. Some graduate students of the Center for Purposeful Living enjoy a walk in the neighborhood. Students and volunteers enjoy working at CPL's service-learning project, California Fresh Catering. CPL is where we can expand our horizons, grow beyond limiting beliefs, and transform ourselves through service.

Questions to wake up to today:

—Am I willing to take on the responsibility of transformation; of soulful growth? To be that which I have never been before? Does becoming a new being frighten me, or inspire me? Is radical change an acceptable idea if accomplished gradually but steadily and persistently?

—Did I push against my old habits that need changing yesterday? How much? Did it hurt? Will I push against the old habits again today? Do I commit to doing so tomorrow?

The Center for Purposeful Living (CPL), a non-profit, all-volunteer service and education organization founded in 1998, is a place where our most important questions—Is there more to life? What is my purpose? Why am I really here?—can be addressed and answered.

Its Transformation Through Service is a challenging experiential learning program for persons who aspire to expand their capacity to serve and uncover deeper meaning and purpose in life.

Its successful business, California Fresh Catering—staffed by volunteers and giving all of its profits to charity—is a vehicle for serving the community and an engaging CPL service-learning laboratory.

Its Service Entrepreneurship Training (SET) program offers, at no charge, training and mentoring to non-profit groups and organizations on how to become and remain positive, productive, and purposeful.

Its Foundation for Purposeful Living—a million-dollar-plus fund established through more than two decades of modest but consistent giving and unpaid service work by CPL’s board members—offers grants to volunteer organizations for their efforts to serve humanity.

CPL also is an aspirational and intentional community of approximately 50 ordinary, service-minded individuals and families who live and serve together cooperatively and purposefully.
